A Legend about Dragons

Some years ago, in the cold yet warm time between Winter and Spring, Dragons stirred in response to a call. The Circle moved, and there was change.

First came the Fire Dragon. She entered from the East, gleaming metallic in the eye of the Sun. People came and sat with her. It was Peaceful.
Then later, in a tracework of roaring flames she gave birth to the Earth Dragon who scattered into many directions.

A whole year passed.

And the Earth Dragon returned. He rose up from the clay breathing the Fire of his birth into the Air. He roared the gifts of Inspiration and Innocence and then he left.

The following year the Air Dragon flew in from the West. He hovered for a while. Watching, remembering and looking within. Then he too left, continuing his journey to the East.

A year later the Circle made a full turn.

In the North the Water Dragon emerged from the Winter. He liked what he saw, a still pool, and in his Wisdom, decided to stay for a while, for a rest, a time of Renewal.

And the Water flows along.
